Questions About Therapy?
Here are answers to common questions about my practice, approach, and how therapy works. If you don't see your answer here, reach out — I'm happy to talk.
What is your individual therapy rate, and do you offer sliding scale?
My individual session rate is $150, and my initial intake is $175. I do offer a sliding scale based on financial need—please reach out to discuss what works for your situation. I'm committed to making therapy accessible.
What insurance do you accept?
I'm in-network and out-of-network with most major insurance plans, including Aetna, Anthem, BlueCross and BlueShield, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna and Evernorth, Humana, Optum, Oscar Health, Oxford, Surest, and UnitedHealthcare UHC | UBH. I can verify your specific coverage when you contact me to schedule.
How do you work with trauma and CPTSD?
I use a combination of evidence-based and somatic approaches tailored to your needs. This might include EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, and polyvagal-informed work—all designed to help your nervous system feel safe again. We focus on reconnecting you with your inner resources while building practical regulation skills. Healing isn't linear, and I pace our work with care.
I'm an athlete dealing with performance anxiety and life after sport. Can you help?
Yes. I specialize in working with high-achieving individuals, including athletes navigating transitions, performance pressure, and identity shifts after competition. We blend sports psychology principles with nervous system work and life coaching to help you build confidence and find meaning beyond performance.
What should I expect in my first session?
Your first session is collaborative and exploratory. I'll listen to what brought you in, ask questions to understand your history and current struggles, and begin to get a sense of how you work. We'll discuss my approach and what therapy with me looks like. By the end, you should have a clearer picture of whether this is the right fit and what we might work on together.
What is your overall approach to therapy?
I believe that healing happens when we learn to work with ourselves instead of fighting what we feel. Life moves in waves—moments of calm, times of chaos, and everything in between. My job is to help you ride those waves with steadiness and skill. I use an integrative approach, pulling from EMDR, ACT, somatic therapy, mindfulness, and strength-based coaching to meet you where you are. Therapy with me is always paced with care and grounded in practical, actionable strategies.
I'm based in the Memphis area. Do you see clients in person or virtually?
I see clients both in person and online. My office is in Cordova, TN, and virtual sessions are available as well — whichever works better for you. I also offer a free 15-minute consultation if you'd like to talk first and see whether we're a good fit.
Do you offer group therapy?
Yes. I run a closed group of up to eight people, focused on nervous system regulation, coping skills, and safe connection. Pre-enrollment and an assessment are required before joining, and sessions are $50–$65 each based on schedule. Reach out through the contact page if you'd like to learn more about enrolling.
What is a therapy intensive?
A therapy intensive is an extended session booked as a single block, running anywhere from two to six hours rather than a standard appointment. Availability and pricing vary — reach out through the contact page to ask.
